Loeries seminar offers intl creative perspective

To begin the Loeries Judging Week, a half-day seminar will be held on Tuesday, 5 July 2011, at The Campus in Bryanston, where the international judges will offer the latest global trends in brand communication, as industry leaders. They are Adrian Miller, chief creative officer of JWT Delhi; Garrick Hamm, creative partner of Williams Murray Hamm, London; and André Laurentino, ECD of TBWA\London.

Adrian Miller

South-African born Miller has been ranked by Media Magazine as one of the top five ECDs in Asia-Pacific, as well as one of the top two creative directors in Asia by Campaign Brief Asia. He has won numerous Lions, multiple D&AD in books, Gold at Clio, One Show, London International, Adfest and Spikes. He has twice had work listed in the Gunn report top 10 and has been a judge at Cannes, Clio, D&AD, Spikes, Adfest and AWARD. Miller is also a member of the JWT world wide creative board. He is the Print Communication chair.

Garrick Hamm
Garrick Hamm

Hamm is currently executive president of the D&AD and an active member of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). With a love of moving image and filmmaking, his most recent film "The Man Who Married Himself" starring Richard E Grant and Emilia Fox won Best Comedy Award at the LA Shorts Festival. He has won numerous major awards, including a D&AD Yellow Pencil, two DBA Design Effectiveness Grand Prix Awards and a shelf full of Clios, and has been profiled in the Financial Times and The Observer. He is chairing Communication Design.

André Laurentino
André Laurentino

Laurentino, also known as Dede, is a successful novelist and sitcom writer, director for the Brazilian Creative Club and jury member for the Brazilian Creative Annual. In the early years, he became one of Brazil's most awarded art directors. He has gone on to win further awards, including Cannes Lions (which total 13 to date), Gold medals at the Brazilian Creative Annual and a national Grand Prix for his print work. His novel, The Passion of Amâncio Amaro was voted one of the best books of 2005. He is the TV & Radio chair.

The seminar will mark the beginning of the Loeries judging, which will be hosted by Vega, the Brand Communication School and Design School SA in Johannesburg. Bookings can be made through the website www.theloerieawards.co.za.
