Pandering to men’s egos

The Male Ego Lifestyle Exhibition, a showcase of the finest premium brands for today’s man who aspires to “the better things in life”, will take place 3 – 6 May 2007 at the Kyalami Exhibition Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.

The show will allow visitors to interact with premium manufacturers of cars, motorcycles, helicopters, 4x4s, watches, clothing, sporting equipment, outdoor gear, tools, gadgets, electronics, male grooming products, property investments, wines and many more.

Organisers Guy Voller and Derrick Dissel are the brains behind the operation at Male Ego Exhibitions. Voller has recently returned to South Africa after a stint in investment banking in the UK, while Dissel is the originator of a number of successful exhibitions and international trade fairs.

“The Male Ego Exhibition will really show off the cream of premium brands to discerning consumers,” says Voller.

“We will attract visitors who want to interact with the brands on show and who have the means and intent to purchase the kind of goods we’ll have on display. It’s all about appealing to man’s every sense of desire in terms of his image and material belongings, from wearing an elegant wristwatch to driving a prestigious car, to bespoke investment portfolios!”

The Male Ego team aims to have roughly 160 exhibitors and are currently negotiating headline sponsorship. The target market is men, 30-50 years old, with large disposable incomes and a penchant for the finer things in life.
