    IMFSA warns of con man

The International Media Forum of South Africa (IMFSA) yesterday, Wednesday, 30 July 2008, issued a general alert that a David Olkers of DO Media or David Olkers Media has been claiming to be a publisher of a review of IMFSA in conjunction with BDFM Group publications and Cape Media Corporation publications, in particular Business Day, Financial Mail, Leadership and Black Business Quarterly.

According to IMFSA, Olkers has been contacting companies in South Africa and also possibly overseas, passing himself off as IMFSA and using the logos of IMFSA, Business Day, Financial Mail, Leadership and BBQ to solicit advertising in a publication and has asked for payments to be deposited into his bank account.

“Please be advised that the International Media Forum South Africa, BDFM Group, or the Cape Media Corporation and their publications Financial Mail, Business Day, Leadership and BBQ have no connection whatsoever with Mr Olkers or any review publication of the IMFSA event, official or otherwise, which he is claiming to publish. Business Day and Financial Mail will not be taking part in either editorial or distribution of any IMFSA review publication produced or associated with Mr Olkers,” reads the statement from IMFSA.
