    SA wins Gold, Bronze at One Show Interactive

    NEW YORK, US: Out of a total of 91 Pencil winners representing 17 different countries awarded at the 2012 One Show Interactive in New York City on Friday night, 11 May 2012, South Africa scooped one Gold Pencil and one Bronze. For the first time ever, there was a tie Best-of-Show 72andSunny for "MFCEO"for K-Swiss and DDB Paris for "A New Warrior" for Greenpeace. [multimedia]

    Almost 3074 entry pieces from 52 countries around the world were received for this year's One Show award competition. This year's One Show Interactive competition featured eight categories, including Websites & Microsites; Mobile Applications/Sites; Interactive Advertising; Online Films and Video; Integrated Branding; Craft; Social Media and Brand Transformation.

    The "Be the Coach" campaign has already won a Silver Clio at the 2012 Clio Awards, In-Book at the 2012 D&AD Awards, Silver at the 2012 PRISM Awards, Experiential Ad of the Year at the South African Creative Circle's Ad of the Year Awards 2011, Best Integrated Sport Marketing Campaign at the 2012 Virgin Active Sport Industry Awards and two Golds at the 2011 Bookmarks.

    Best-of-Show

    "This is the first time in the history of the One Show Interactive awards competition that we have awarded two 'Best of Show' winners," said Kevin Swanepoel, president and interim CEO at The One Club.

    "After four intense hours of deliberation by our elite jury panel, a landmark decision was made to award both DDB Paris and 72andSunny for their brave creative campaigns."

    By country, top Pencil winners include:

    • 35: US (13 Gold, 15 Silver, seven Bronze)

    • 9: Sweden (three Gold, one Silver, five Bronze)
    • 8: Canada (two Gold, three Silver, three Bronze)
    • 8: Germany (one Gold, three Silver, four Bronze)
    • 8: United Kingdom (one Gold, four Silver)
    • 5: Japan (one Gold, four Bronze)
    • 4: France (two Gold, two Silver)

    The One Show is annually produced by The One Club, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to champion excellence in advertising.
