Radio DJ Nigel Pierce is set to return to Cape Town's biggest radio station Good Hope FM on the 1st July to take over the weekday afternoon drive show. Pierce takes over the drive show from Graeme White who moves to weekend breakfast.
"Nigel is one of the country's most talented radio DJs and we believe his strong profile in the Cape Town market will assist us in increasing Good Hope FM's listenership," said Helen Graham Station Manger Good Hope FM. "He is entertaining and in touch with our target market, but above all he brings a professional, innovative approach to radio."
"I guess it's a bit like the return of the prodigal son," said Pierce, "but music has always been my mistress. I'm looking forward to being back at Good Hope FM – it's a totally new show for me as I have never done afternoon drive but we're going to have fun and games."
Added Pierce "In this industry you are measured by longevity. I work extremely hard and have plenty of new ideas I'll be bringing to the station and perhaps even changing the perception of what people think about me."
A masters Law graduate, Pierce has hosted top shows at all of the Cape's radio stations having most recently presented the breakfast show on Cape Talk.
With Pierce joining the station and White's move to the weekends, Kia Johnson will now host Saturday and Sunday mornings from 02h00 – 06h00.
