On Friday 16 October 2009, the 20th winner of Boss of the Year was announced at Montecasino from a shortlist of six finalists. He is Ian Heyns GM Anglo Gold Ashanti who said he was very humbled to be awarded this prize and that amongst the audience were his staff who had come up to Johannesburg for the ceremony and who were very proud of the fact that he had won. The awards aim to acknowledge bosses throughout South Africa and highlight the attention they pay to needs of their workforce, as well as their impressive leadership skills. The annual awards are organised by Dictum, with MTN SA Foundation as patron and main sponsor for the second year.
