The recent spate of cold weather, particularly in Cape Town, had many looking for ways to keep warm.
Public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan has now taken on the scourge of the Economic Freedom Fighters. While former tourism minister Derek Hanekom has also come under fire from Julius Malema's party, claiming that Hanekom was in on the ousting of former ANC president Jacob Zuma.
Eskom's bailout, meanwhile, has many worried.
Overseas though, seems the British have bigger fish to fry after former London mayor Boris Johnson was named prime minister of the UK. The only way people have coped with the news is by making memes comparing Johnson to US president Donald Trump.
And finally, convicted racist Penny Sparrow died this week.
