Wavescape Surf Film Festival is open for entries

It takes place from 21 November – 11 December 2016 at a number of iconic venues in Cape Town, including the Centre for the Book, the historical Labia Theatre and the famous outdoor screening at Clifton 4th Beach.

The festival highlights local and international surf culture, sharing inspiring stories about people and their passion for travel, surf and the ocean, paying tribute to our ocean’s delicate eco-system. This raw beauty drives us to explore exotic destinations in search for the perfect wave, which can only be depicted through film.

“The festival offers filmmakers a relevant platform to showcase their work as well as network and develop new collaborations,” said Shani Judes, festival manager. “We are looking for well-made ocean and surfing films and documentaries with exceptional narratives, surfing or cinematography.”

Selected films will be premiered at the Labia Theatre over one week in early December in one of two daily time slots, while several will be selected for the free screening on Clifton 4th beach on Saturday 3 December. For more information, go to www.wavescapefestival.com.
