Johannesburg Tourism supports Holidaymakers Expo

The Holidaymakers Expo runs from the 3 - 6 March 2005 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre at Nasrec. The Holidaymakers Expo is a new consumer exhibition that will debut in Johannesburg with an emphasis on the multitude of holiday destinations in and around Johannesburg.

"We have a wealth of tourist attractions and places of interest right here in the heart of Johannesburg and in the Greater Johannesburg area," says Deon Viljoen, outgoing-CEO of The Johannesburg Tourism Company. "Our commitment is three-fold: to encourage business and leisure visitors to our city to spend an extra day or two in Johannesburg to explore these attractions, to urge our local residents to get to know all the fascinating places right on their doorstep and to add a new exhibition to the already extensive arsenal for trade and consumer events in Johannesburg."

Holidaymakers Expo, says Hampie de Kock, the exhibition's director and producer, is South Africa's first fully comprehensive showcase of holiday products. Not only will holiday destinations be showcased but there will also be a focus on accessories, leisure activities and equipment. "It is an Expo that will represent the entire spectrum of the hospitality industry - from those who provide accommodation to those who offer crucial services that add value to the family holiday," he says.
