Mommy knows best!

On 1 May 2005, M-Net introduces a new concept - an unscripted dating game show called 'Show Me The Mommy'. M-Net will be licensing the international version of the show and re-formatting it extensively to suit the South African market.

Dating game shows like BBC's 'Would Like To Meet' and 'Three's a Crowd' have set the trend for shows of this nature and ensure the success of 'Show Me The Mommy'.

The concept works like this: three gorgeous moms and one delectable bachelor will engage in a battle of wits on a date. The bachelor will be forced to decide, which of the three daughters he'd like to date, without ever having met her! He must base his decision only on his experience with the mom! And these moms will do anything to test out the bachelor's suitability for their darling daughter, while some even test his temptation levels by flirting with him.

Members of the public may become contestants on the show, so moms who want to find the perfect man for their daughters, daughters who want to give their moms the power to chose their partners and bachelors looking to get to know mom-in-law a little better before meeting the real thing, can pick up entry forms at the Multichoice offices in Johannesburg. Contestants can also enter online at www.mnet.co.za. Auditions will be held on a call-back basis.

Carl Fischer, Head of M-Net Local Productions, comments, "The concept is sound, with all the right elements to please viewers. M-Net has invested substantially in local productions this year, and remains committed to showing that South Africa has the talent, creativity and originality to produce entertaining shows to world-class standards."

Combined Artists will produce the show under the guidance of Executive Producer George Mazarakis. He believes that the time is right for a show like this. "Internet dating is on the up, so why not use television as a medium to find a potential match? 'Show Me The Mommy' will make viewers look at dating in a whole new light," he says.

Oracle Airtime Sales has created a cost-effective opportunity for potential sponsors to take advantage of the next big thing in television. There are also limited opportunities for product placement on the show.
