Even bigger victory for DStv at the 2006 Promax Awards

DStv once again excelled at this year's Promax and BDA Awards with six Gold, five Silver and one Bronze statuettes. The 2006 awards were held in New York City, 22 June 2006, and pitted DStv's television campaigns against those of international networks such as Discovery Europe, MTV Networks and BSkyB.

Enthuses MultiChoice sales and marketing director Graham Pfuhl, "The Promax awards are the pinnacle for any global broadcaster and we are especially pleased that we have won more awards than in previous years - beating our own record and that of any other South African company. This shows clearly that our DStv product is not only in line with global trends but also a real pace setter'.

He further attributed the excellence of the DStv on-air promos to a tried and tested relationship between MultiChoice and multi-award winning production company Studio Zoo, headed by Cathy Ferrara and Adi Leach. Studio Zoo has previously won the Promax Platinum Award, 10 Gold, nine Silver and two Bronze Promax Awards. The company also produces a variety of M-Net and MultiChoice Africa communication and promotions.

DStv's campaign to promote the usage of the PVR decoder came out with shining colours. Pfuhl comments, "As the saying goes...You are only as good as your last game! We continuously strive to surpass our previous achievements and are especially pleased on being acknowledged for our PVR campaign. We set off to position the PVR as a user friendly must-have gadget. And to be rewarded for our efforts is absolutely gratifying"
