A cut above the rest

SABC 1's new reality show follows creative contestants tackling real world design challenges while being exposed to business realities. If you think you have what it takes to apply creativity to tasks such as print ads, product and fashion design, and are available throughout July 2006 and first week of August 2006, enter as a contestant and shine on national TV.

Sixteen contestants will compete in a knockout-based series of 13 x 48-minute episodes. Each week the contestants are divided into two teams, although the teams will not stay the same from week to week. Each challenge is designed to test the contestants and determine who is able to think, and create, on their feet in the most unusual and trying of staged circumstances.

Lifestyle-jump-start package

The winner will float away not only with pride and celebrity status, but also a "lifestyle-jump-start" package consisting of:

  • a dream job at a leading company in your design/creative field
  • a new car
  • an Apple computer
  • a year's worth of designer clothing
  • round-trip air tickets for a year to international destinations, as well as
  • admiration and envy by your peers.

Put together a couple of examples of your work (a small portfolio), and get to one of the venues closest to you on the specified date. When you're there, let Urban Brew know why you should "make the cut".

So are you an aspiring creative genius? Do you see the world differently? Can you feel a burning deep inside to show the world back to itself, through your eyes?
