Murrell has 27 years of commercial radio experience, having started in Radio Nova in Italy in 1981 before moving to ABC Radio in Ireland. In 1989, he joined Radio Luxembourg for a year before coming out to South Africa, where he joined Capital Radio 604. Later he moved to 5FM and worked for the station until 2005, when he returned to the UK.
MD Kevin Savage offered him the position earlier this year and Murrell accepted. “I have known Tony for many years, having worked together on two different radio stations and it is a pleasure to welcome him as part of our management team,” said Savage.
Murrell comments, “I'm really excited about this new challenge and looking forward to working with Savage again.”
