Tim Modise joins Cape Talk and 702

Charismatic broadcaster, Tim Modise has quit the SABC to join 567 CapeTalk and 702 Talk Radio. Modise will take up the 9 am to 12 noon slot which will be simulcast on both CapeTalk and it's sister radio station, 702.

"Modise is one of South Africa's most popular media personalities and will bring with him not only an incisive mind but a huge following of devoted listeners," said CapeTalk station manager, Lucia Venter.

"We are delighted to have Tim on board as he will strengthen CapeTalk's position as the leading radio station in Cape Town.

Primedia Broadcasting CEO, Terry Volkwyn said: "As 702 and 567 continue to re-position themselves as the leading news, current affairs and information stations, Modise's move has been widely welcomed. Modise is considered one of the country's most credible commentators. His charmingly tenacious style and wide knowledge will be a huge attraction for both stations," Volkwyn said.
Modise will join the stations on January 13, 2003 when several other changes will take place will take place at CapeTalk.

Breakfast show host, Gary Edwards will make way for rising star, Nigel Pierce, while Lisa Chait will move to the afternoon slot.

The CapeTalk weekday line-up will now comprise:
6 am to 9 am: Nigel Pierce
9 am to 12 noon: Tim Modise
12 noon to 1pm: Chris Gibbons
1 pm to 4 pm: Lisa Chait
4 pm to 7 pm: John Maytham
