Under the theme, 'Bridging the gap between the formal and informal market', Minister of Public Enterprises, Malusi Gigaba, will address the attendees as keynote speaker, while confirmed VIP guests include Gauteng MEC and ANC Youth League provincial chairperson Lebogang Maile and the Minister of Arts and Culture, Paul Mashatile.

Community development

On air since 1995, AlexFM is in need of funding to acquire new premises to house the station, as well as additional funding to meet its 2014 objectives. It provides a walk-in centre and agent for community development and positive change and provides detailed, impartial and accurate information on issues that are of interest to Alexandra and outside communities. Currently the station has a five-year renewable operating licence, which is valid until October 2018.

"The station has been committed to serving the community for nearly two decades and we hope this will continue for well into the future. It is not just a part of Alexandra and surrounds, but it also is invested and involved in our community. It invests in meaningful partnerships such as Take A Girl Child to work, the Adopt a Learner campaign and the Aged Annual Beauty Contest," says Trinity Mohlamme, station manager for AlexFM.
