Founded in 1987 by a group of young business owners, Entrepreneurs' Organisation (EO) has grown to include over 7000 members in 38 countries. Its annual 'University' event will be held this year in South Africa, hosted by the local EO chapter, 10-14 November 2010.

Under the theme 'Black white and the intoxicating space between', over three hundred entrepreneurs have booked for the event, which is now sold out.

"The opportunity to host an event of this nature is a great coup for the local chapter," adds EO University Cape Town 2010 chairman, Dave Smollen. "In South Africa in particular, entrepreneurship is of paramount importance in creating jobs and growing our economy. By pointing the proverbial spotlight directly onto events of this nature, we are pleased to be doing our part in introducing local business talent to the world, and vice-versa.

"The event is a unique opportunity to embrace a community of global entrepreneurs and create a stimulus for growth in the Western Cape region and the rest of the country. The possibility of this leading to long term international investment in Africa is substantial."

Keynote speakers already confirmed for the four day conference include Nando's co-founder Robert Brozin; Poet, performer and TV presenter Lebo Mashile and endurance swimmer, Lewis Gordom Pugh.

Opportunity for local entrepreneurial pitches

'Pitch and Polish' is a competition that will be held in mainly smaller towns around South Africa, where people have three minutes to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges. The judges then spend three minutes asking clarifying questions and three minutes giving feedback. Each week a finalist will be chosen who will then compete in the final against fellow finalists. The EO has partnered with Raizcorp to hold the finals of the 'Pitch and Polish' event at the event in November 2010. EO will also be involved in the judging and organisation of the four-month programme.
