Triple publishing award scoop for DeskLink and CLASSICfeel

In the space of eight days CLASSICfeel magazine, published by DeskLink Media, has scooped three major publishing awards - the Sappi MPASA Pica Award for Arts & Entertainment (Customer) and the prestigious Media Award and Journalist Award at the seventh Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) awards ceremony.

It is with great pride that we announce that CLASSICfeel has won the Sappi MPASA Pica Award in the Arts & Entertainment section of the Customer Magazine category. "To be chosen as the best in South Africa in our category is an achievement that fills us with pride, as it sends out the important message that CLASSICfeel is definitely going places, and it's also an indication that we are on the right track with our design and content," said Lore Watterson, publisher and editor of CLASSICfeel. The Sappi MPASA Pica Awards are held annually to acknowledge excellence in publishing, and all categories are hotly contested by the cream of local magazines.

Hot on the heels of the Pica triumph comes the news that CLASSICfeel magazine has also been awarded the coveted Media 2005 prize at the seventh annual Arts & Culture Trust Awards held on 17 November, and Janine Erasmus, CLASSICfeel's resident journalist, has won the Journalist 2005 award at the same event. The Media award is open to all genres of media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, television, websites and e-zines and as such, is a very prestigious award. Journalists from all these genres vie for the top spot in their category. The ACT Awards identify individuals, organisations and agencies who devote their lives to making the arts accessible to all South Africans and who play the vital role of development of arts and culture, rather than those who are in front of the curtain, so to speak.
