Ithuteng Dipuo Foundation decided to organise a conference where grant seekers or non-profit institutions, especially those from the North West province, and grant makers could have the opportunity to network and create relationships to overcome challenges.

Golaganyang (Setswana for bring together), aims to provide a platform where corporate organisations, government departments, non-profit institutions and community based organisations from different sectors can be united with the purpose to apply corporate social investment and social development funds effectively.

The niche and focus of this conference will address the principle of 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and he'll eat forever'. Non-profit institutions should be motivated to become more sustainable rather than being dependant on continuous funding. The above strategies will alleviate poverty and will create sustainable jobs. This will lead to wealth creation rather than wealth distribution.

Out of this conference stakeholders can derive a blueprint that will help grow the economy of South Africa focusing on job creation and poverty alleviation as well as creating opportunities in various sectors: health, education, agriculture, youth development, TB, HIV/Aids, child headed households, etc.

The conference will benefit non-profit institutions by introducing them to grant makers, providing them with some tools to approach the grant makers as well as a grant guide with information on grant makers. Non-profit institutions experience a wide range of challenges when sourcing funding.

The conference offers role players the opportunity to attend the two-day conference on the utilisation of CSI funds, interact with other stakeholders and role players and the opportunity to exhibit their organizations. Speakers from different levels of development in CSI and social development will put forward a message of unity focusing on above sectors and their needs. A gala evening will be held on 14 March 2012 for networking.
