PR agency goes Web 2.0 with expanded tech offering

Strategic communications consultancy GGi Communications' new specialist technology division GGI Tech provides three types of niche PR service offerings to technology companies: High Tech PR, Communications 2.0 and Publicity 101.

High tech PR

With recently upgraded tech expertise, the consultancy provides high tech PR services to large multinational and local technology and telecommunications organisations encompassing a combination of traditional media relations, reputation management, advocacy and brand communication, complimented by new disciplines of online PR and online reputation management.

“This service offering is geared to creating visibility and preference for our clients in their markets and sector.” explains Lisa Clark, business director for GGi Tech.

The company's 25-year track record in corporate and brand communications and its affiliation to Weber Shandwick Worldwide are critical factors in being able to deliver global best practice in the southern African market.

Communication 2.0

GGi is also to offer social media and digital communication services, addressing the increasing need for companies and brands to harness the benefits of technology and the Internet to broaden and deepen their influence on relevant audiences

The critical focus area for this offering is on strategic community building, conversation development, collaboration and generating content that compels others to share it. A range of products, including search engine optimization (SEO), linking, social media releases, content optimisation, blogging, webcasts, podcasts, RSS feeds, are available to clients.

“Our differentiation is that we combine our traditional PR expertise with the newer online and social media PR practices, which not only helps our clients extend their sphere of influence across the Internet, but build reputation and brands with more impact.”

Publicity 101

Targeted at smaller sized businesses, Publicity 101 provides a package of basic “101” PR services to new and growing businesses trying to establish their public image in the market. This service offering encompasses an elementary writing service, technology specific media relations combined with basic market and trend analysis, complimented with a clipping service for measurement purposes.

Packaged together, these services are intended to provide growing technology companies with publicity to drive sales and elementary awareness of their products and services at an affordable price point.

“Our service offerings to technology and technology-related companies are purpose-built and are all intended to provide PR and communications with a strategic purpose,” says Clark.

“Whether the activities implemented are intended to increase a company valuation, help a company position itself for acquisition or drive sales, the purpose is to help clients achieve the highest levels of business success on their terms.”
