Racing Stripes is a fun-filled film that stars Bruce Greenwood (Thirteen Days, Holiday Homicide, I, Robot) and Wendy Malick (Just Shoot Me) and combines live action with characters enhanced by animatronics and the voices of Frankie Muniz, Steve Harvey, Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Clark Duncan, David Spade and Snoop Dogg.
Racing Stripes is the tale of a baby zebra named Stripes, who is accidentally abandoned by a travelling circus during a rainstorm. The helpless zebra foal is discovered by horse trainer Nolan Walsh, who rescues Stripes and takes him home to live with him and his young daughter Channing on their modest Kentucky farm. Stripes and Channing grow up together as best friends and share a similar ambition - both dream of racing in the prestigious Kentucky Open. With the help of his barnyard friends, Stripes must overcome prejudice and self-doubt to pursue his lifelong dream of running with the big horses and landing in the winner's circle.
Chief Executive of Videovision Entertainment, Anant Singh was instrumental in bringing the production of Racing Stripes to KwaZulu Natal where the film was shot over a fourteen week period, giving a R200 million boost to the local economy. The film was shot on the Riverholme Farm in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands and the horse-racing sequences were shot at Gold Circle's Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg.
"We are pleased to be releasing Racing Stripes in South Africa. The film provides wholesome family entertainment. We are confident that audiences will respond very well to the film," said Anant Singh. "We are also delighted to have been associated with the production and to have arranged for the locations in KawaZulu Natal. This illustrates our region's flexibility as a film location as the film was set in Kentucky in the United States. The KwaZulu Natal region has a great deal of potential as a location for both local and international films. Also, the producers of the film, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove are friends of mine and they were very impressed with South Africa's creative and technical talents," added Singh.

Racing Stripes will be released in South Africa on 24 March 2005 by Videovision Entertainment through United International Pictures (South Africa).
