Mint 40 under 40s opens for nominations

Nominations have opened for the annual top 40 under 40s in the media. Now in its fourth year, the initiative is aimed at recognising the most influential and talented individuals in the South African media industry under the age of 40.

Due to the interest and enthusiasm for the concept, a more structured nomination process has been introduced that will see nominees rated on set criteria in addition to the normal written motivation. Individuals who were featured last year can be nominated again this year, if they have new achievements in the last 12 months. The adjudication process has also been reviewed and will include input from the Media Magazine's editorial board.

Peta Krost Maunder, editor of the Media Magazine, says, "This is a celebration of excellence. We are looking for the future leaders of the media industry, the ones who have clout, the ones who cannot be ignored because their words have weight and what they do makes a real difference to the industry. These individuals exhibit traits of passion, enthusiasm, integrity, mentorship, innovation and the ability to inspire and mobilise others in order to achieve a common goal.

"By expanding our process, we will ensure that an optimal number of qualified nominations are placed before our board for consideration against the above criteria. These individuals will be shaping our industry over the next 20 years and they will be the role models who will be inspiring a next generation of media pioneers."

Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.themediaonline.co.za. All nominations need to be submitted by 6 January 2014.
