Jupiter rearranges the furniture in Jo'burg

The Jupiter Drawing Room has announced management restructuring in its Johannesburg office, which bills in excess of R300 million a year, to meet both the "transformation challenge and continued growth".

Group chairman Graham Warsop says: "Our Johannesburg agency is in its 16th year of operation and we now bill in excess of R300 million a year. We need to make changes due to continued growth and our increasing relevance as the largest 100% locally owned South African agency."

Alison Deeb (formerly client service director), takes over as managing director; Renee Silverstone (formerly managing director) moves into the position of CEO; Given Mkhari (formerly vice chairman) becomes chairman (Johannesburg); and Graham Warsop (formally chairman, Johannesburg) continues in his role as chairman of The Jupiter Drawing Room (South Africa) and Executive Creative Director Johannesburg).

Simphiwe Mdlalose, director of transformation comments: "We are very happy with the progress we have made - coupled with the Cape Town office, total employment equity in The Jupiter Drawing Room (South Africa) now stands at 30.75%.

"But we are not sitting on our laurels as we know that the transformation challenge is an ongoing process in our country."
