The Captive View Media Company win Airports Company of SA washroom advertising tender

In a deal with a potential value in excess of R30 million over the next five years, The Captive View Media Co, a subsidiary of Afrilink Communications and Media Innovation, has been awarded the tender for washroom advertisings in all ACSA controlled airports in South Africa.

The tender award, announced yesterday amidst stiff competition, will see The Captive View Media Co. place hi-tech advertising displays in washrooms at all major airports around the country. These audio and video capable media forms will be a world first in washroom advertising.

"The contract will be effective from February 2003, for a five year period," says Nicholas Petersen, Managing Director of The Captive View Media Co. "The development of the hi-tech, video and audio capable media for washrooms is the factor which we believe provided the edge and enabled us to win the tender," says Petersen, the new cutting edge media will be unveiled within the next few months.

The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) put out a tender for all advertising media at its airports, and The Captive View Media Co. bid specifically for the washroom advertising part of the tender. About 30 companies took part in the overall tender, although fewer bid for the washroom specific part.

"Washroom advertising is one of the most audience captive media forms available," says Petersen. The advertisements, located in aesthetic and regularly serviced digital displays, are guaranteed of being seen.

The Captive View Media Co. forms part of larger group which has been operating in the washroom media sector for nearly two years, and whose major deals include such primes sites as washrooms in Ster Kinekor theaters, concludes Petersen.
