Andre Shearer, the South African born founder and CEO of New York based Cape Classics, said Choi has shown unwavering dedication to South Africa's growth in the US marketplace and has a deep understanding of what it takes to sell South African wine.

Choi, who brings a wealth of senior management experience and trade knowledge to her new role, will be responsible for managing the company's sales force, national accounts business, marketing team and programme initiatives.

"During her time as senior vice president she not only demonstrated management and motivational skills, she also showed dedication to South Africa's growth in the marketplace and the company's distinctive service culture," said Shearer. "Her skills, coupled with her understanding of what it takes to sell South African wine, make her the perfect candidate for this leadership position."

Choi is regular speaker at national trade events and has been quoted in various publications including Beverage Media, Beverage Network, John Platter's South African Wine Guide and Decanter Magazine. Before joining the company, she handled marketing initiatives for French luxury conglomerate LVMH.
