Budget offers its customers cash back bonuses

Budget Insurance has introduced an optional cash back bonus for both new and existing customers, which differs from its competitors in that there is a long list of claims that do not affect the bonus. These include, for example: claims for stolen vehicles fitted with a tracking device, money stolen from the customer's home, repairable windscreen damage and stolen garden furniture.

It has been introduced to motivate customers to be more cautious with their possessions. It gives customers 15% of their premiums back after two uninterrupted, claim-free years, 10% back after the next two uninterrupted claim free years following that and 10% back for every uninterrupted claim free year thereafter. Once the payout has been made, the customer begins a new cycle for the next cash back bonus payout.

Martin Janse van Rensburg, spokesperson for Budget Insurance, says, "Many consumers do not understand the difference between a no-claim bonus and a cash back bonus. With a no-claim bonus, insurers reward clients for each claim-free year that passes, by possibly using this to discount their monthly premium. The cash back bonus, on the other hand, rewards the client with a financial pay-out for remaining claim free for a specified number of years, as a result of them being more vigilant with their possessions."
