Eat, watch, talk at Freeworld Design Centre

In November 2011, renowned foodies will be introducing the screening of their all-time favourite food movie, accompanied by a meal designed to fit the movie by food artist Jacques Erasmus of Hemelhuijs at the Freeworld Design Centre in Cape Town.

This fresh concept starts at 6pm with sundowners at the roof bar, which has panoramic views of the City Bowl and is the perfect spot to wind down after work. The themed meal follows at 6.45pm and then the personalised foodie introduction and film at 8pm in the 98-seat auditorium. Guests can choose between sundowners, movie-and-meal combo, or just the movie.

Design for Food interior design exhibition

These themed food movie evenings are also connected to a Design for Food interior design exhibition, which will be on show at the Freeworld Design Centre from 3 November 2011 to 21 January 2012. The exhibition will feature the work of Maranda Engelbrecht of Babylonstoren in collaboration with fashion photographer Gerda Genis, Tina Bester of Queen of Tarts, Jacques Erasmus of Hemelhuijs and Luke Dale Roberts of Test Kitchen in collaboration with Casamento. The exhibition opening night is on 3 November from 6pm.

The 'Food, Foodie and Food-Movie' nights are a WalkCapeTown project, supported by Plascon. WalkCapeTown is a post-World Cup initiative aimed at re-energising the Fan Walk with a series of public-hearted events that bring life, love and excitement to the city.
