"Make-up artistry plays one of the most important roles in the beauty and fashion industry. This competition is designed to create opportunities for young and new talent and to give them a platform where they can be recognised for their talent and skills both locally and internationally," says Jackie Burger, editor of Elle. "We are looking for confident, creative and daring make-up artists who'll bring new ideas and fresh thinking to make-up application."

Elle beauty editor Lynette Botha, adds, "We want make-up artists with creative interpretation of make-up and impeccable application techniques and a passion for the art of make-up and the beauty industry. The ideal candidate has got to be able to represent the Max Factor brand both locally and internationally."

The winner of the competition will be promoted both locally and internationally throughout the year and will travel to the renowned annual global Max Factor conference, a trip valued at R50 000 and receive a Max Factor make-up kit worth R20 000.
