Max Factor, Elle look for make-up artist

Elle magazine and Max Factor are about to accept entries to its inaugural Elle New Talent Make-Up Artist Search 2009 to expose the best upcoming talent in this field.

The competition is open to emerging make-up artists who have completed their training but have not been in the industry for more than five years. To enter, download a face chart from http://www.ellemagazine.co.za and design a make-up look on the chart using Max Factor products with full reference. Then put together an A3 inspiration chart using images from magazines photographs and colour palettes. Finally, you have to demonstrate the look on a friend and take a picture.

“We want to be involved in the development of all spheres of the Fashion industry and we see this platform as a fantastic opportunity to discover new make-up talent in our country,” said the magazine's beauty editor, Zanele Kumalo.

Max Factor is about backstage make-up artistry and therefore make-up artists are at the core of the brand equity hence the partnership with the magazine to find a talented professional make-up artist who will exclusively represent Max Factor in South Africa.

The competition will be launched in the magazine and on its website on Monday, 8 December. Closing date for entries is Friday 30 January 2009. The 10 finalists will be notified by telephone by 16 February 2009. The winner will get an opportunity to assist on a magazine fashion shoot and receive credit as well as win a full make-up kit from the cosmetics company. Added opportunities are representing Max Factor for one year at all events, road shows and in the media and co-hosting of an Elle workshop.

Entries should be sent to the Elle, PO Box 1741, Saxonwold, 2132, for the attention of Zanele Kumalo. Please note that these packs will not be returned to the artist.
