Lufthansa flying to Cape Town again

German airline Lufthansa has confirmed that it will provide a daily flight from Frankfurt to Cape Town from October to meet increased demand from South African and European travellers according to Fin24.

It says this flight is in addition to its daily flight to Johannesburg.

The new Cape Town flight will increase the capacity to carry tourists into South Africa by 60% over the next five months until the peak European travel season ends in March next year.

Lufthansa will use the Boeing B747-400 for the Cape Town trip as this plane will give it the capacity that it needs to bring tourists into the country. On the Johannesburg leg, Lufthansa uses the Airbus A380 and it says that since it started using this plane, its capacity has increased by 6 000 seats.
