Mango advised that there would be delays in and outbound of Durban as well as possible knock on rotational delays throughout the day.

"Approximately 20% of Mango's morning flights were impacted by 90 minute delays on average due to the refueling challenge in Durban today," says Mango spokesperson, Hein Kaiser.

However, he says that the airline has mitigated the impact through tanking in fuel from other airports on inbound flights to Durban as well as aircraft swaps in the schedule. "By midday all Mango flights affected by this were back on schedule due to the operational adjustments made."

At this time there has been no resolution to the refueling challenge but Kaiser said the airline does not expect any further delays given mitigating action taken. One flight from Cape Town to Durban (JE 322 scheduled departure from Cape Town at 06:30) was diverted to Johannesburg for refueling this morning when the refueling challenge became known to the airline.
