Comztek receives Symantec's Distribution Partner of the Year Award

Distributor of technology and communications products, Comztek, has received the award as Symantec FY2012 Distribution Partner of the Year from vendor partner Symantec. Comztek has a long-standing relationship with security, storage and systems management solutions specialists Symantec.

The award recognises the hard work and efforts of the Comztek channel team in both South Africa and across the African regions where it has a presence.

"The Symantec channel team within Comztek have once again proved that through innovation, value-driven services and passion, one can face a tough economy head on and still manage to succeed," states David Caygill, business unit director at Comztek. "By receiving this award we are once again assured that our focus on value-added distribution and service excellence remains a winning formula."

Aligning management objectives

The award is given in recognition of the innovative methods applied by a distribution partner that has resulted in an increase in new business and growth in reseller breadth within its region. According to Symantec, Comztek was able to achieve all of these goals, through its marketing and sales approaches, showing continued quarter on quarter growth in the past year.

Caygill adds that over the last year Comztek has placed particular emphasis on aligning its own management objectives, within its Symantec channel portfolio, to better align with those of the vendor company; a move he believes has been a cornerstone of its success in the role of distribution partner of the company.

"Comztek puts a large emphasis on being aligned to Symantec's business objectives quarter on quarter and this has led to their successful performance and great channel coverage, not only in South Africa, but across the region," says Chad Cleevely, channel manager at Symantec, South Africa. "Comztek has consistently demonstrated that collaborative efforts including cross-vendor programmes, partner enablement and consistent brand awareness can increase new business sales and reseller breadth significantly."
