UnionPay International and SBM to revolutionise payment acceptance with mPOS solution 'MOOV'

In association with UPI (UnionPay International), SBM is the first local bank introducing an innovative payment platform - mPOS (mobile point of sales) in Mauritius. The mPOS technology "MOOV", powered by SBM, is a new and secure service that will allow small traders and dealers to accept payments through credit, debit and prepaid cards by just swiping. SBM is moving forward to further innovate with cashless solutions.

The new service to accept card transactions via smartphones or tablets will enable small- and medium-sized enterprises like retail shops, taxi services, beach hawkers or home delivery to provide their customers with added convenience for payments with the current growth and presence of UnionPay cards in the market. UnionPay card is becoming a payment tool favoured by local residents and the mPOS service is expected to bring them a more convenient payment experience. To avail the facility of mPOS, any SBM branch can be approached for application details.
