Power of Coding is a 3-hour workshop aimed at introducing girls to what coding is, how it applies to their interests and giving them an idea of whether they have the potential for a career in web development. Learners will code their first project and, at the end of the session, take a test to determine whether they qualify to apply for a bursary for Code for Cape Town’s full learning programme, which includes code classes, visits to tech companies and the chance to meet inspiring women in tech.
As a project which empowers young women to leverage technology for social innovation, Code for Cape Town is looking for high potential, committed learners who will thrive in the opportunities provided by the organisation and partner initiatives.
Saturday workshops will be held at Bandwidth Barn Khayelitsha from 09:00-12:00 on 11 February and 11 March 2017.
