Get ready for a Whale of a time

The annual Hermanus Whale Festival is celebrated its 23rd year as an enviro-arts festival in South Africa, putting the creatures of the deep on stage and under the spotlight alongside top performers and musicians. The festival took place from 3-6 October in the seaside village of Hermanus on the southern coast of the Western Cape.
Get ready for a Whale of a time

Hermanus, known as the 'best land-based whale watching destination' in the world, plays host to thousands of visitors who flock to the seaside resort to exhilarate in the unique natural environment, watch the whales and revel in music, enjoy great food and enjoy the many activities available during the festival. It was reported that in 2013, over 110,000 visitors were welcomed.

The whales are always the star performers at the festival and will be joined on land by food and craft stores, sports events, a coaching clinic, kids entertainment, the Two Oceans Wine Music stage with over 20 artists performing over the festival, Marine Endangered Species Expo Marquee, Vintage Car Show and thousands of people celebrating Spring.
