InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Rajit Sukumaran as its chief development officer in the Asia, Middle East and Africa region. Rajit has been tasked with leading the development team and group's growth strategy in the AMEA region.
Sukumaran obtained his bachelor's degree in accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and has, since then, gained experience in development, acquisitions, and feasibility. Prior to joining IHG, Sukumaran worked as Starwood Hotels & Resorts' senior VP of acquisitions and development in the Asia-Pacific region and was employed in the PricewaterhouseCoopers' corporate finance division, prior to this.
