Renowned as the leading international travel publication, Travel + Leisure magazine embarks on an annual survey amongst its global readership to identify the best of the best in travel. Using a questionnaire developed by the Travel + Leisure editors, in association with ROI Research Inc, readers rank their favourites according to specific qualifying criteria.
South Africa dominated the Travel + Leisure Top 15 City Hotels in Africa and the Middle East, with Saxon Boutique Hotel listed as one of two hotels in Johannesburg to make the list.
The Saxon also makes a debut appearance on the Top 100 Hotels Overall at no. 33 as one of seven South African hotels to be recognised by the Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards. Interestingly, all seven appear in the Top 50 confirming South Africa's prominence as a top travel destination.
