Granny Mouse wins Diamond Diners Club Wine Award

Renowned for being superior hosts, the popular Granny Mouse Country House & Spa, situated in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands has reason to celebrate as they have won a Diamond Diners Club Wine Award for their 2012/2013 wine list.

Wayne Chislett, general manager and Leon Hansmeyer, assistant food and beverage manager at Granny Mouse received the award in Durban recently. "It is always a tense moment as we build up to this annual announcement and this is the third year in succession that the hotel has won such a prestigious award. Catering to our discerning guests who have a growing awareness of South African wines available, the list whilst different to last year still offers great value and is one that I believe will appeal to pallets across the board," says Hansmeyer.

"Food is without doubt one of the main draw cards to Granny Mouse as we offer an option of two restaurants between the less formal Bistro and fine dining at The Eaves. Added to this is our well known Cellar, a destination of its own that provides wine lovers the opportunity of going through the ritual of personalised choices which is part of the overall Granny Mouse dining experience," says owner Gill Bowmaker.
