"We have requested that doctors forward their names to us and submit the claims again. We hope they will get paid, failing which we will have no choice but lodge a dispute," chairman of the association's committee for public sector doctors, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, said.
Sama met with department officials on Tuesday (5 February) in an attempt to resolve the impasse over non-payments to doctors.
It emerged on Monday that doctors at Chris Hani Baragwanath in Soweto and at Pholosong, OR Tambo Memorial, and the Far East hospitals in Ekurhuleni, had not been paid.
Doctors at Baragwanath had not received payments for January this year, while those at the Ekurhuleni hospitals had not been paid since September last year.
The department said some doctors filled in their claim forms incorrectly and had been asked to re-submit them.
