The company has demonstrated its support of learner skills development and the benefits of exposure to entrepreneurship by hosting its annual Boys in Business day. Organisers at the company had in place a full agenda for the day, including several presentations by Accsys members of staff and executive management. Learners were given a comprehensive tour of the company, including all divisions and departments, and provided with interesting facts and figures.
Presentations covered business etiquette, the role of HR and payroll in business, recruitment, as well as the relevance of internship versus learnership. However, it was the opportunity to field questions to the company's CEO Teryl Schroenn that was the highlight of the visit. Schroenn concluded the day with an interactive dialogue with the group of learners and emphasised the importance of continuous reading and a proactive approach to learning and applying skills.
