Autodesk, a provider of 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, aims to provide a hands-on experience in exploring the evolution of technology and the future of design and engineering.

“The objective of 'The Future of Making Things', is to tap into South Africa’s expertise in the design arena and to further this in line with global and sustainable trends,” explained Simon Bromfield, channel manager at Autodesk South Africa.

“We’ve observed a universal trend in the design space with an enhanced need for versatility and speed but with sustainability as a core focus,” continued Bromfield. “This is particularly relevant in a South African context, where technology has the potential to dramatically change the way we utilise our resources to design, build, make and create things.”

The speaker lineup includes Jonathan Knowles, Dion Chang and Kostas Samaras. Creative thinker, Jonathan Knowles, serves as Autodesk’s explorer in residence. He is a respected voice on future trends, long-range vision, and creating the preferred future.

Dion Chang will provide deep insight into what the local consumer seeks from all manner of design whilst Kostas Samaras, Autodesk’s territory head for Africa, plans to shed light on the latest developments in the global engineering sector and the future of design therein.
