OR Tambo International Airport Hotel will be open for World Cup

One-hundred-and-sixty rooms at the Premier Hotel group's new OR Tambo International Airport Hotel will be handed over by 1 June, 2010, in time for the FIFA World.

Only 500 meters from the Gautrain Station and 1.2km from the terminals, reached by a free shuttle bus, the Premier Hotel OR Tambo International will be a full-service four-star-plus hotel.

“As construction of the entire building will be completed by end-May, only the furnishing of additional rooms will be done after this date, ensuring a noise- and nuisance-free experience for guests from 1 June,” said Premier Hotels & Resorts MD, Samuel Nassimov.

Second phase, third quarter

The second phase, which will bring the entire hotel to its 280-room capacity, will be handed over by the third quarter of 2010.

Costing in excess of R300 million, the hotel's large rooms (45 of which are suites with their own lounges) and public areas will all offer free wi-fi Internet connections. Other facilities will include a spa, swimming pool deck, gym, business centre, restaurant and two bars along with 24-hour room service.

Similar to the group's other hotels, the new Premier Hotel OR Tambo will also contain a large conference centre, with nine conference rooms and boardrooms, able to hold up to 800 delegates cinema-style.
