“Everyone has worked tirelessly to ensure each detail was in place before we opened our doors and our hearts to the public,” said Anetta Maharaj, GM, StayEasy Pietermaritzburg. “Teamwork has been a critical element and our staff are extremely proud and excited to be part of this new venture.”

De Bruyn was equally thrilled as he enjoyed a bottle of champagne amidst a serenade from staff. The hotel also treated him to a complementary fruit basket in his room as well as dinner at the Butcher Block restaurant located in the adjacent Liberty Midland's Mall.

All emotional

“We were all emotional,” said Maharaj. “It is a very special moment when one sees one's handiwork come to life. Until Monday, StayEasy Pietermaritzburg was a beautiful new building. Now this space resonates pride, a sense of belonging, and extraordinary exhilaration about opportunities for the future.”
