Eat Out DStv Food Network Restaurant Awards date and venue announced

According to an Eat Out survey conducted earlier this year, 75% of respondents have eaten at a Top 10 restaurant in the last year and Eat Out has made more public tickets available for this year's event.

Abigail Donnelly, editor of Eat Out and chief judge, said: "More exciting changes to the awards extend to the all-important judging process, with the inclusion of a panel of four, highly esteemed, South Africa-based judges. These judges will remain anonymous throughout the judging process and will only be revealed on the night of the awards."

The awards recognise restaurants and chefs in the following categories:

• Restaurant of the Year
• Chef of the Year
• Service Excellence
• Top 10 restaurants
• Boschendal Style Award
• Lifetime Achievement Award in association with Paarl Media
• The Jacobsdal Best Steakhouse Award
• The Best Asian Restaurant
• The Best Italian Restaurant
• The Best Country-style Restaurant
• The Best Bistro
