The first Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South Africa International Fashion Film Festival is to be held from 5 to 7 June, 2014, in Cape Town and will give artists, filmmakers and designers in the industry the opportunity to showcase their cinematic take on the world of high-end fashion.
Premier brands announce association with fashion film festival

Premier brands formally associated with the event include global make-up company MAC cosmetics, international TV channel Fashion One TV, the Cape Town Fashion Council, electronics manufacturing giant Hisense, professional hair-styling brand GHD, and transportation network Uber.

In the MAC Lounge, guests will be shown the latest make-up trends, techniques and products.

Fashion One, the TV channel dedicated to fashion, entertainment and lifestyle, is the festival's official television partner and will cover the festival in its inimitable, innovative style.

The perfect city to host a fashion film festival

"Viewers will be able to enjoy the essence of African designs not just in runways, but also through fashion films. Cape Town, as the creative hub of sub-Saharan Africa, is the perfect city to host a fashion film festival and showcase the creativity within the region," said Ashley Jordan, CEO of Fashion One.

Every moment of the festival will be displayed in clearer-than-life quality across the innovative range of Hisense screens and products.

Besides indulging in beautiful fashion films, visitors can shop at pop-up stores from Cape Town Fashion Council designers. Members of the public are invited to come to the event and shop from 10am to 4pm on the Friday and Saturday. It will be a one-stop shop for the latest in top South African fashion with designers like: David Tlale, Gavin Rajah, Milq and Honey, Label Collections, Jo Carlin, Selfie, Spilt Milk Designs, CSquared, Lara Klawikowski, Shirt & Co, Jagadi Couture and Hannah Collection.

Of course, there's the matter of transport to the red carpet events. As the official transport partner for the festival, Uber, which specialises in luxury vehicles for hire, will be putting a sexy and contemporary spin on the classic taxi service. New users can sign up at Uber.com and enter the promotional code: FF2014 for a complimentary ride up to R200.
