New music video for GoodLuck

The Cape Town-based production duo GoodLuck have released the music video for their new single, Stars In My Eyes, which pays homage to the last 72 hours of Marilyn Monroe's life.

The launch of the video has coincidently been well timed as we wait for the release of the Hollywood blockbuster My Week With Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams.

The song lyrics are reflective and are mainly about growing up in our country and wanting the best outcome for the country. The video also echoes the sentiments of looking back on a happy time and having a heart filled with hope for the future. Even though this story ends tragically, the legacy Marilyn Monroe left in the world shows how a bittersweet life and spirit can still have a massive impact on history, and even today.

"All stars, no matter how brightly they shine, feel pain, longing and have real, human experiences. This lady had an incredible, dramatic and short life, but she lived, loved, cried and screamed, and was a real as you and I," said Ben Peters, producer of GoodLuck.

Dirty Soul Productions also directed and produced the videos for all GoodLuck's previous singles - the 2011 summer hit 'Taking It Easy', the 1940's war video for 'Hop On Hop Off' (which has been nominated for a MK Award for Best Dance Video), 'London Sixteen 66' and more recently, their MVP 'Harlem' which is set in a Cape Town township.
