Alien Safari - Sprung

Now that I have recovered, I feel it is safe to write this all down. This was my first proper outdoor trance party and I can safely say that I survived. Apart from leaving my mattress back in Cape Town and sleeping on the ground and then in the car, all went well.
Alien Safari - Sprung

The venue was just outside of Paarl and was in a valley that made you feel as though you had found a secret carnival all to yourself. Surrounded by unparalleled beauty and continuous beats, the fun began to creep out and take us all on a journey.

No one cares what you wear, who you are, where you're from or what you've done in the past. It is all about the here and now and simply enjoying yourself and meeting new people. There were people wearing onesies, striped pants, top hats, big shoes and anything else they couldn't wear on an average day.

A beautiful experience

Sprung definitely had me take a second look at how much we judge and feel judged by others. It was a beautiful experience and I thank Alien Safari for something perfect.

There are a few rules I learned from my first outdoor trance party. Don't forget your mattress! Don't wear anything you would hate to get muddy or lose along the way. Warm and comfy - two very important words. Remember there are no ATMs and lots of tempting goodies, so draw more cash than you think you'll need and keep it safe.

If you've never been to an outdoor weekend of any kind, make a plan to do it. It may get pricey, but you can do it on a budget. Also go with like-minded people or you may find yourself bored and it will ruin it forever.

Most importantly, take pictures, have fun and remember no one cares if you're a little crazy, because at the end of the day we all are!
