Moderate alcohol consumption not implicated in erectile dysfunction

Men who drink within the accepted guidelines for low-risk drinking have less risk of erectile dysfunction.

This information comes from a report based on four studies in which 1580 men answered a questionnaire on their drinking habits and their experiences of erectile dysfunction.

Men whose alcohol consumption placed them in a low-risk category, showed a lower risk of experiencing erectile dysfunction. The authors of the report say that this should inform doctors who counsell men about erectile dysfunction in terms of alcohol consumption. They also say that men who are moderate drinkers and who experience erectile dysfunction need feel no guilt over past or current alcohol consumption.
