The organisation represents about 80% of the private hospital sector. Together, these groups own and manage approximately 220 hospitals, servicing 28 675 hospital beds.
Melanie Da Costa, who was re-elected chairperson for another term, said, "Despite the complexity and challenges of healthcare in South Africa, the newly elected board brings together individuals with deep insight and on-the-ground experience of delivering quality healthcare.
