The event aims to highlight the stark reality of the blind and signifies the dedication and enthusiasm that SAGA has exuded for 56 years in training dogs to assist the visually-disabled, and in so doing improving their quality of life. This year for the first time, the ball will also highlight another global concern - the plight of our environment and the need to cut back on our reckless expenditure of our rapidly depleting resources.
Montecasino, the venue sponsor for last year's Winter Ball, where in excess of R400,000 was raised for SAGA, will again provide the backdrop for the night. The venue features dynamic themes, facades and water features to lend to the earthy atmosphere of this year's theme - Green Earth.
