Owl Post Pinotage out from Neethlingshof

Neethlingshof has released its 2008 Owl Post Pinotage, which was aged for 14 months in 40% new Hungarian oak, and 20% American and 40% French second-fill barrels. It was then blended, bottled, and given enough time for all the components to meld before being released onto the market.

The estate uses natural predators to combat rodents by erecting owl posts. Due to the abundance of food, the owls have started breeding on the estate and there are owl posts in all the vineyard blocks as part of the estate's integrated programme of pest control. The wine is ready to be drunk now but will also age well for another five years or more.

It is expected to retail for about R130 per 750 ml bottle.
